Get to Know Us
Melvin's Produce is a small, Black-owned local farm committed to growing fresh, chemical-free produce, harvesting raw honey and cultivating community through hands-on education.
Located in Fayetteville, North Carolina we offer a variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables, pure local honey from our own bees and engaging classes in gardening, beekeeping and sustainable living.
At Melvin’s Produce, we believe in real food and real connections—“Farm to Table, Fresh Everyday!”
A powerful and important question: Why We’re Needed
Melvin’s Produce isn’t just a farm—we’re a lifeline, a learning space and a source of healing in a community that’s long been overlooked. In the heart of a low-income neighborhood, where access to fresh food is limited and environmental injustice is real, we stand as a solution rooted in the soil.
We are needed because:
-
Healthy food should not be a privilege.
We grow and provide fresh, affordable produce where grocery stores and healthy options are often out of reach.
-
Knowledge is power.
Through education, we teach sustainable practices and food sovereignty, giving our community the tools to feed themselves and future generations.
-
The land heals.
In a world of concrete and fast food, reconnecting with nature, growing your own food and watching something thrive can transform lives.
-
Representation matters.
As a Black-owned farm, we reclaim and reshape the narrative of who farms, who teaches and who leads in agriculture.
-
Community grows here.
From workshops and farm tours to school visits and volunteer days, our farm brings people together — planting seeds of change that reach far beyond our fields.
